Alpha 0.17 Patch Notes
The Steam demo build. New Points of Interest, added languages, a big balance pass on the early game and research economy, plus a stack of bug fixes.
New Features
- Added new UI interaction when purchasing an upgrade to make it feel more reactive
- Added Points of Interest

- Added SFX for the following:
- Fireworks during tier upgrade sequence
- Researcher generating point
- Made the building shortcut button pulse if its corresponding building has upgrades that the player can afford
- Added a visual representation for the researcher timer when hovering a station that can spawn researchers
- Added Simplified Chinese and Japanese as language options in game
- Added some new tip messages:
- Advertisement board explanation
- Point of interest explanation
- One that introduces the anomaly on first hover
- Added a slight magnetism to UI elements when using a gamepad
- Moved end demo screen to after the anomaly, it was coming up too early before
- Updated the price on purchasable buildings to fade out if you can't afford it
- Can no longer decode anomaly multiple times on the same save
Price & Balance Changes
The main goal of these changes was the following:
- Pick up the pace of the early game
- Improve research point economy
- Improve passenger spawn rate vs how much trains are carrying, especially in the late game
Bug Fixes
- University description text was not carrying over after being purchased
- Fixed bug where floating text was showing up over the top of the end demo screen
- Fixed anomalies causing flashes of light on some GPUs
- Purchasable buildings will no longer move if you click them a lot while not being able to afford them
- Fixed bug where trains would get stuck at the university stations
- Fixed bug where tooltips in the main menu settings were not being localized
- Fixed bug where trains would sometimes not reposition themselves when needed
